Warner's "Brothers'" Produce Upset
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS--Without Kurt Warner, the hottest player in the league, no one gave the Mounties much chance at beating the hottest team in the league. Those same people must have overlooked Warner's backup, the number one pick of the 2000 draft, Steve McNair.
"I'm throwing to Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice," McNair laughed after the game. "Maybe Kurt's not so special, eh?" he added with a wink.

Boston had been rolling over the rest of the BFL and had no reason to expect anything else heading into Sunday's matchup. The underrated Saints defense, though, was able to contain Curtis Martin and all but shut down the Manning-Moss Connection a mere week after Peyton Manning's career best game.
"You don't like to think you were overconfident," Coach Bill Walsh sighed, "but I think when you combine the high these guys were already riding with seeing Kurt Warner out, it was hard to motivate them."
Boston was lucky as the loss coincided with losses to three other teams in the Williams Division. On the other hand, Moose River's stunning upset only helped them tread water in the McKay where everyone but Sin City posted a "W."
